The initial phase consisted of the earthworks with a very large amount of the hill being carved out to provide a level base large enough for the footprint of the house and surrounding paved area.
Foundations and the base slab were laid before Christmas.
Then the rain arrived......Two weeks continuous rain, the like of which has not been seen for years, not only brought work to a halt but caused three seperate landslips with a significant additional cost attached to the building and then subsequent removal and re-building of a retaining wall behind the house.
